Fairy Princess Lifeguard Hanna

I'm not as in love with Halloween as everyone else I know, but I do enjoy an excuse to wear fairy wings.

There is no point to having the pool open on Halloween, especially when it's freezing cold and icy out. Seriously, we had about 4 seniors all day...just wandering around the pool. And then almost no kids for lessons...but always at least one per class so you had to teach it still. One little psychotically hyper child who's been fed candy and a school party all day long. So they don't actually learn anything. Don't take you child to lessons on halloween! Let the poor instructor sit in the hot tub for a bit!

Well, I do have a lot of chocolate at least, only 9 children came to my house. One was a 4 year old dressed as a unicorn, that was the highlight. Sadly no children dressed as bugs. Nothing bets a preschooler dressed like a bug.

Also, here is another Eureka 7 fan art. This one is the title character (Eureka that is) for my buddy Lance, as it is his birthday. And he is in love with her. Happy Birthday Lance!

brrrrrrrr

So it snowed aaaaaall day yesterday, great fun. Roads were nasty. I didn't care, I stayed inside all weekend. In my pajamas. I had a cold and there was no way I was leaving the house. On saturday Craig was off too and we spent much of the day watching movies. Shoppers Drug Mart has a ton of movies for $10 each, so I just keep coming home with them when I go there. I don't know how it happens, I swear they just jump into my bag. So we watched Bend it like Beckam, which Craig had always swore he would hate but of course he didn't. He thought it was an american movie, not a british one. Because apparently when I talk no noise comes out? And we watched the Neverending Story which I loooove and he had never seen. But of course he loved it. Because it's impossible not to.

Anyway, That's my life, pretty exciting. I also did some cooking, a wee bit of cleaning and worked today. My back is still/again sore. It's been like 3 weeks on and off so I'm gonna ask my doctor what she thinks when I go in for my nasty nasty appointment on thursday morning. Gah, how I hate it.

Also, I must finish Final Fantasy X by tomorrow of Craig won't buy me FFXII. Which comes out tomorrow. Whatever, he'll cave, I bet I get it tomorrow anyway, he just loves it when I want a video game because it's so rare. I like final fantasy though, it's kinda like watching a really long pretty movie, and you fight monsters while you watch it.

Um, yeah, here's a flower:

*snort, sniffle, cough*

Oh head cold. There are good things and bad things about head colds. On the down side...you have a head cold. But on the plus side, your day just kinda floats by in a dreamy hazy state. Of course, I am responsible for people's lives, so maybe that's a bad thing too.

Mom, I need more chicken noodle soup...I used the last jar yesterday. And today I am still sick and have no soup. Except Kimchee. So I had to order chinese for dinner.

I live in a windy city. It's not always windy, but it usually is. And today it was very very windy. I tell you this to set the scene for today's pool story.

There is a little old man who swims at the pool every day. His name is Joe. Joe is 95. Once Joe didn't come for a month and we got so scared that we started reading the obituaries. He wasn't dead, just a skin tear. This is how Joe swims laps: First he wanders to the middle of the pool...then he swims to the deep end. Then he swims back towards the shallow end until he hits the lane rope (Joe swims at a bit of an angle.) Then he grabs the lane rope, flounders in the water for a moment, then gets up and jogs to the shallow end. And repeat for 1/2 an hour. Joe still drives a car every day.

Every day Joe comes at 12:00. Every day. Today Joe came at 3:20. When cashier girl asked him why he was swimming at 3:20 he said that he did in fact show up at 12:00, however the windy was so strong that when he got halfway to the pool entrance he couldn't move forward anymore, so he had to go back to his car and come back later when the wind died down.

I don't know how he said all that because to me he just smiles and says "shu shu shu" as he breaths out.

It was however, a bit of a problem because there aren't any lane ropes to run into at 3:20 in the afternoon.

Rest in Peace Moju

Ah! moju died! I was so upset. Craig says if I get this upset everytime a fish dies I don't get any more fish. :( And I told him that he was in charge of dead fish disposal cause I can't do it. In fact once when I was younger I had a fish that died and it actually started rotting in the tank because I just couldn't deal with it. that was nasty, it's eyeballs rotted out.

This didn't happen with Moju, in fact he might not have been all the way dead. I prefer to think of him as just being a bit sick, then healing up and roaming the sewers in search of albino aligators to eat. Best of luck in the sewers Moju.

Oh well, I liked Xingu and Paru best anyways. But now we need a new tetra because two isn't enough because they like to school. Although, they were the ones eating Moju's tail off, so I'm not sure how well they play with others.

Insomnia

I'm having trouble sleeping again. I thought it was just summer and the heat, but this last month or so I'm having a nasty time. I don't know anyone that loves sleep as much as I do, it's not fair that I should be deprived of it!

Gah! *insert sleepy mumble*

Hippo! I love hippos! mostly due to the Telus commercial, I'm not gonna lie. But they're so cute, they're all fat and heavy on land and then they just zoom and frolick about in the water. Kinda reminds me of my exboss....hmmmm

Fishies!

So here's another Zoo picture...It's my favourite pic from the Orchid room in the conservatory. I loooove orchids. Not as much as red pandas, but hey, they're not fuzzy.

You only get one zoo picture a day.

Oh right, the fishies.
My delightful parents got us an aquarium as a birthday present. Yay! We have three fish, they are Head and Taillight Tetras. We can get more fish in a month when they make the water all good and fishy friendly. They are named (of course they are named! They're little alive animals in my house. It's just rude not to name fish). Xingu, Paru, and Moju. A cookie for the person who guesses why. Not including my mother. Here are some pictures of my new friends:

It's not easy taking pictures of fish, by the way.

Gah! Snow!

Snow, all day long. Melty snow. Little snow. But still.

Snow.

A lady came into the pool today and said "at least it isn't snowing". She wasn't being sarcastic.

Sorry I'm such a bad blogger. I've been bad with all my internet stuff...dunno why. Anyway, many fun and amusing things have happened in the last couple weeks. Such as I turned 25 on the 4rth. Craig got me an Ipod:

And we had a nice dinner and some wine and whatnot.

Then last weekend I finally got out of my art slump and drew this:

Then this weekend my parents came up, on saturday we went to the zoo. Now, my favourite animals at the zoo are the Red Pandas. Sadly, every single time I go to the zoo they are sleeping or hiding, every single time. Not this time!

Ah! so cute, I could have watched them aaaaall day. But they wouldn't let me. grrrr. Hmmm...I'll post some more up later, must make dinner.

Why, Esquires? Why?

So I went to Esquires (my favourite coffee shop) for lunch today. I love it because you can get soup and a bagel for $3.65. I was all excited, because it's cold here and perfect for soup. I walked down singing "soup soup soup!" to myself. Then I arrived.

It's closed!

Gone!

Foreeeeever!

Oh I wanted to cry, it's so tragic. Not only have I lost my favourite coffee shop, but that means I'm down to three places I can eat at withing walking distance of work (and I usually don't have the car) two fast food places and a pita place. None of them have soup. I had a pita. I was good. Soup would have been better though.

On another note, I had a nasty nightmare on Saturday night. I was having a normal dream. By normal I mean that was dreaming about a reunion of my bible school friends. Only I was hanging out with my mom (not the nightmare, mom, don't worry!)...and we were driving....well I was, see this part of the dream was like a video game, I could see us from overhead and I was driving on this thin road with water on both sides, but I kept falling off (I suck at those games) but I could just keep going in the water, cause it was a game. Aaaanyway, then I turned into Veronica Mars (and that was the nightmare! hahahaha oh wait, no) and I took a picture of the mountian (we were in the mountains, with a lake and all...that's what I was driving through)...anyway, as I was taking the picture, all that showed up in the camera was me (Veronica Mars) and no background, just like...the grey and white grid you get in photoshop with a transparent layer...you know the grid...right? Anyway it wasn't me (Veronica Mars) it was a demon! I could tell by the red eyes. Not like demon red eyes...just camera red eye.

At this point I said to myself "this is the single stupidest nightmare I've ever had. I'm waking up!"

This is where the trouble begain.

I got myself half awake...then I was in an absolute dead panic. I could see the room, see the light from the window on the wall, but I couldn't move and I couldn't breathe. I could see this wispy shape standing next to the bed beside me whispering something I couldn't understand over me. And I was seriously half awake...I couldn't get myself the rest of the way awake until I managed it with a huge wrench and i was terrified and gasping for breath.

I haven't been so freaked out in...well I can't remember. I had a similliar instance earlier this summer. I haven't had nightmares since I was a kid. I don't like it at all. I'd like it more if I didn't believe in demons. Gah!

Anyway, otherwise life is good, I've got my muse back and I've halfway cleaned my house...did some laundry anyway.
