I was very excited yesterday to get little S's baby book! It's an 8.5x11 hardcover done in chocolate brown bookcloth from Creative Memories. At 97 pages it's a pretty decent sized album and barely within the printing limit (100 pages).
It's just as pretty as I had hoped! Even some of the less wonderful pictures look pretty good at small sizes.

The cover is plain, I wish you could get it with a bit of text, but they don't do that with the bookcloth. I thought about doing a window, but I really wanted the first page to be the ultrasound pics and that's not the cutest for the cover!

Every month starts off with a full page portrait shot and a wordle collage. I love how these turned out!

I kept (and still do) a simple word document that I write in every couple weeks with what she's up to, so I have a spread in every month with those notes.

And then of course just a lot of photos and some journaling of her adventures!

I'm feeling pretty good to be holding it in my hands when she's only 16 months old! And that's number 9 checked off my list!

Inspiring, m'dear!
looks awesome!
Just followed the link from ohdeedoh.com and I am totally inspired by your baby book. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! We have three children and I am so inspired by this. I love to capture memories and have yet to find the best way to do this. I think you did! What a great idea to keep up to date details in word. Did you create the book as you went or right when she turned one?
I'm so inspired by this - I will start working on mine this week - thanks for the wordle idea - love it!
I'm inspired, too. My little guy is 2 (so I'd have more pictures to choose from), but I really think I could do this. Love the wordle idea!
Thanks for the love guys!
Canyon - I tried to do it as I went but it was more in a few big spurts as I was feeling into it. About a third of it was completed after she turned one.
Wow! Thanks for sharing your work. What a beautiful book you created. How did you get the Wordle such a large size without it looking fuzzy? I've tried using a Wordle in a project I'm working on and the resolution is terrible.
You're book is beautiful! Easy to do with such a beautiful baby :)
I work with a company called Heritage Makers and we help people create books, canvases, cards, scrapbook pages, etc and I would love to give you a free book credit to try us out next time. You can edit the front cover as well as all pages just exactly how you want them and as a designer, I think you would be very impressed with our over 50,000 paper and embellishment choices. You could even download and use some of your own designs! Let me know if you want to check it out and I'll get you set up!
Thanks for introducing me to Wordle!! I can't wait to use it in my next book!

Diane - I posted a little wordle tutorial here: http://hannaslifeiscool.blogspot.com/2010/06/ss-wordle.html
Long story short, you pretend you're printing it, then save it as a pdf.
TiffM - I'll check you out for sure :)
What software packages, if any, did you use from Creative Memories?
No packages, I did all my own templates :) I prefer my pages a lot more simple than their designs generally are.
Hi Hanna!
I adore how this turned out! I am due in March and am considering doing something like this. Would you consider sharing or even selling your templates? I am so challenged when it comes to that.
Forgot to mention, I'm going to share this with all my mommy-to-be friends!
I have been writing a letter to my daughter each month, and would LOVE to mimic your baby book - it's perfect! Can you please tell me exactly which book your ordered from Creative Memories and which of their programs you used? Thank you in advance!
