It rocks. Literally but not so much figuratively. It needs new upholstery in a bad way (not just for style's sake, it's quite worn) and the wood could use some love as well. I'm planning on stripping and revarnishing the wood, and redoing the upholstery with something fun. Still keeping the same style with the buttons and piping.
Why no, I've never done anything like this before. How hard can it be? (wait's for the laughter to die down). Seriously though, the important issue is...what fabric to choose. I keep going back and forth between more neutral (because it will be a lot of work, so I'd like it to last) or fun (because it will be a lot of work, so who wants a boring chair?). Opinions? Here are some of the fabric choices I've been looking at, what would you pick?:

Fabrics 3&4 will handle small child with sticky fingers and muddy boots with much more aplomb than the others, especially the last few ... just saying...
I love the yellow and the grays. I am partial to neutrals though. :) I wish i was this ambitious.
The fun thing about neutrals is that you can spice is up with funky pillows. That said, I like the 3rd one ^_^
I vote for the yellow and for the green.

I've got to agree with Karen, light colors will not last with kids around unless you are really good at keeping them(the children) obsessively clean. I do like the one with the dark grey background. I would go with darker neutrals. I love the yellow and the turquoise, but are you still going to love those colors in five or ten years?
My first choice would be number 1. I love the happiness of the yellow. My second choice would be number 3 because you could throw a bright red pillow on it and then next month you could change it.
