arrrgh

So I'm at the library where I was looking for the Artist/graphic designers market guide. Which I couldn't figure out the name of. So I came online to look it up and found that it's 34% (34%? wierd amount?) off at chapters so I'm just gonna go over there and see if Talyn is there. Oh wait, I have the power to find that out.....no it is not. Booooo. I'll go over anyway. I'm just killing time now because I need to find out if we're having a media team meeting (church thing) tonight or not...it has not yet been confirmed but it would be in an hour and a half....so I don't want to drive all the way home and back, especially as the car is hating the cold weather and thigh high drifts of snow. It's not snowy everywhere...the wind blew most of the snow off the ground...except into thigh high drifts, it's fantastic.

Your Name: Hanna
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate....but I make great eggnog french toast!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa best just give the gifts to me to wrap, I have it all worked out weeks before I finish buying presents...this year is a white and gold snowflake theme.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? Ha, we were too cool for Santa...if I ever wondered it was crushed by my parents taking pictures of themselves in elf hats stuffing our stockings...sad
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? My mom's family is of Mennonite roots, so that side does everything christmas eve, it's great, I get two christmases. Also Craig's family is norwegian so they're christmas eve'ers too....no presents on christmas day though, how sad!
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Um, white lights, red (red red, not cranberry red) and clear glass balls, and then lots of ornaments my mom and aunts and cousins have made me, also I collect gold stars.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? If we could have it for two weeks over christmas and new years I'd be fine with that.
12. Can you ice skate? Doesn't everyone?
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Oooh, hard call, there was the afore mentioned doll house....a really nice easel one year....oh and Craig got me my Canon rebel G while we were dated, I was very excited about that.
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Jesus, family, food and presents...in that order.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Our christmas eve appytizers party, oh I loooove it.
17. What tops your tree? a Star
18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? depends on what I get! ahahaha, I do love shopping though.
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Carol of the bells
20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Really, I don't see the point. Yay! a really big mint! Now where's my chocolate?

Brrrrr

So I had a successful day of christmas shopping today. I only have one more gift to figure out, and a couple to buy online. And I must find more fun things for Craig. But all in all, I am well on my way.

It was very cold. Also very snowy. But that just made it more christmassy, right? Right.

Also, my hair is short and dark again, hooray! I lurve my short hair, I can't think why I ever grew it out and lightened it. Ah yes, boredom. While I was at the salon, I took a picture of my window, so that you could all enjoy it.

Sadly I did not have time to go to the library and write down 500 addresses to send my postcards to. I shall have to make another trip...maybe on friday. Ah well

gah!

oh my life is stressin me out.

I approved the proofs of my postcards, then went to buy my domain name ( I was gonna buy it the night before, but I was too lazy to find my credit card).

Someone bought it.

Yesterday.

Someone bought hannasandvig.com yesterday

how is this possible! Who is this person and why do they have my name!?! I googled my name to see what came up. Me! That's all....I don't think there's another Hanna Sandvig out there...it was bought by Maltuzi Holdings in California.

Maltuzi Holdings

My new nemesis! Then I bought hanna-sandvig.com. Then I realized I have to upgrade my hosting account before I can use it. And of course, I have to change my postcards before they get printed...as I already approved them.

Work is still stressy (I got to hang out at work for 14 hours yesterday, yay me!) and it snowed today.

My plan for the evening is to ignore the world and play FFXII...it's not like I can help anything right now anyway. Perhaps a bath...yeeees a bath will be nice.

hmm

So I just emailed my postcards to the printers...and realized that due to the fact that it's an american company, they're closed for the 23 and 24....yeah, I really hope these postcards get where they're going before christmas!

Had a bit of a panic today when the police called at 8 in the morning looking for my husband! Turns out our car was stalled on a major road and blocking a lane of traffic. No one in the car.

grrrreat.

Anyway, I was all like "I don't want to buy a new car! please God, not a new car!" Because our car is crap, but I am finally going to be able to pay off my student debt....which I want done much more than I want a new car. Turns out it was just the battery! Hooray!

Ack, work is making me stressy and cranky. But we'll be shut down in 2 weeks for 2.5 weeks, during which time I will be painting bunny murals (not my first choice of artistic expression but meh, you take what you get) and NOT teaching snot nosed kids how to swim. And mostly listening to my ipod and NOT my depressed cranky coworkers. And then it's a week off for Christmas! I will survive!

On a side note, you remember Joe, our 95 year old lane swimmer who can't come in strong winds? The other day I noticed something about him. Joe doesn't breath. He'll swim half a length without even blowing bubbles. And he's not a fast swimmer, that's at least a length for a normal person. We figure he must just breath really slowly all the time?

I need a nap. Oh wait, it's 10:37...I guess that's called sleeping not a nap.

Postcardness

So what do you think? I'm gonna get it all formatted and sent out to the printers tomorrow. I like the kitty...it's as close as I can get to a kitty of my own.

So I curled for the first time ever last night. Now I'm officially a prairie girl :P It was actually pretty fun. Me and Craig went with a bunch of people from the pool. I didn't suck! hooooray. I wasn't terribly amazing. but I didn't suck!

Also, we went and saw Happy Feet. You should all go out and see it right away! They're singing dancing penguins, what's not to like about that? And Robin Williams as a Mexican penguin....it's not possible to be that funny, I don't know how he does it. Also there is a plot line, and morals and all...which is really good.

but the pengiuns....they dance!

Hello

I am a terrible blogger. I do know this. Nothing interesting and exciting has happened that I'm rudely keeping to myself. Mostly I just work all day and agonize over my postcard campaign, which will be the start of my fabulous illustration career. Or maybe the start of nothing. Or maybe the end of my hopes and dreams. Okay probably not the last one, but still, I agonize. Is my postcard picture good enough? Am I ready? Is my style solid enough? Are my anatomy and composition skills strong enough?

I DON'T KNOW

I don't

must finish drawing....

R. K. Mortenson's Landon Snow and the Island of Arcanum

Um, so I'm supposed to post about this book for the Christian Science Fiction and Fantasy Blog Tour:

Yeah, except I haven't read it yet. I am still waiting to receive my copy and then....and then I realized I have a copy my mom lent me...I'll try and read it tonight and tomorrow. In the meantime I stole this from the author's website:

Landon Snow is back in his third adventure into the realm of Wonderwood. This time, Landon Snow finds himself on a wild adventure at sea. When a huge, ark-like vessel emerges, Landon - and his sisters - join a quest to find the Island of Arcanum, where the animals of Wonderwood are imprisoned. With the help of his old friends-a horse named Melech, elfish valley folk, a girl named Ditty, and the poet/prophet Vates-Landon seeks to unlock the island's dark secrets and escape with the animals. But he must battle storms and the villainous Arcans-pirates who hoard animals as treasure. Will Landon ever make it back to Wonderwood alive?

Final Fantasy XII

Well I did get it before I finished FFX, but I did finish FFX before I started playing it. I started friday night and I've alread played 8.5 hours. Craig says he's very proud of me. I think it might be the cause of the stabbing-through-eye-headache that kept me up most of the night but I just can't stop, it's soooo pretty. Final Fantasy games are the only video games I like anymore, they're like really really long pretty movies.

Hmm, what else has been up...I had my yearly physical on Thursday. Yeah that hurt like the devil. Had cramps for a couple days....lovely. However it did give me a day of work which was nice. I went shopping for books and underwear and asian food. It's a sensible combination. I bought a bunch of frozen Dim Sum and had a fun dinner on Friday night with all my asian dishes and green tea and such, very yummy....mmmmm pork and leek dumplings....Also I found milk carmel spread which is something they eat in Chile on toast all the time, and I got very addicted to. It made Craig happy. And will make me fat most likely, I haaad to go and look at the calories per serving.

And that's my life.

Book Review: Disappearing Nightly by Laura Resnick

Genre:Light Modern Fantasy

The Back Cover:
“Struggling actress Esther Diamond should be happy to move from understudy to lead in the off-Broadway musical, Sorcerer!—except that her predecessor disappeared during the vanishing act and hasn’t been seen since. Even ambition isn’t enough to make Esther want to go the same route—especially when she learns that other stage assistants are vanishing all over New York City. It’s up Esther and assorted eccentrics that include a 350 year old sorcerer and a hunky police detective to find out if it’s magic or murder that is stopping the shows from going on."

Hanna Stars (out of a possible 5): * * * *

You will like this book if:
-You have a sense of humour, very amusing book.
-You want something quick and light to read that isn't too fluffy.

You will not like this book if:
-You're looking for a serious romance. Like all Luna books there is a romantic subplot, but it really is a subplot in this one.
-You are afraid of Drag Queens.
